Roy Salvadori/Tony Maggs (#4 Aston Martin DBR1), Ludovico Scarfiotti/Nino Vaccarella (#9 Maserati Tipo 63), eventual winner Olivier Gendebien/Phil Hill (#10 Ferrari 250TR Testa Rossa) and Lucien Bianchi/Georges Berger (#15 Ferrari 250GT SWB) are among the first away.
